Salesforce Functional Lead

What you’ll do:

As the Functional Lead, you’ll work closely with business stakeholders and our internal technical team to ensure project deliverables correctly meet our clients’ needs. You’ll run discovery sessions with the client to gather business requirements, analyze the technical feasibility of their requirements, and translate the requirements into technical specifications for the development team. Because of the interdisciplinary nature of this role, you will have the opportunity to be both a trusted consultant and an implementing developer. With much of your work completed remotely, the ability to communicate with clients via both email and conference calls is of the utmost importance. You will also:

  • Lead client discovery sessions with business stakeholders to identify and understand their business requirements. 
  • Listen and understand client industry, business models, processes, inefficiencies and pain points. 
  • Map business requirements and process flows, translate them into technical/development steps. 
  • Create, prioritize, and groom user stories, then create and delegate tickets for the development team. 
  • Lead and participate in solution design meetings, adhering to industry and platform best practices.
  • Provide input for project plans, estimates and scopes for proposals and SOWs
  • Design solutions to client problems with a strategic view that takes into account a range of considerations including client goals, capacity, security, and long term scalability
  • Guide the teams throughout their efforts to produce deliverables according to specification. 
  • Write, interpret, and critique technical specifications
  • Implement technical solutions for our clients that vary from using existing software systems to custom development and integrations to expand base functionality
  • Adhere to platform best practices, finding opportunities for enhancements and bringing existing code into best practices
  • Conduct comprehensive testing for stability and function
  • Maintain code documentation and write/maintain test classes for all custom development
  • Collaborate with project managers and development team to ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide ongoing thought leadership, training, coaching and support to technical consultants and team members 

In this position, you will have flexibility to be remote, or hybrid (Toronto, ON). Some travel may be required for on-site meetings or attendance of conferences.

What you’ll bring:

  • University degree in computer science, information technology, business commerce, or similar
  • Experience as a Salesforce Functional Lead (or similar) with 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience
  • Experience leading client/executive sessions on solution design
  • Salesforce certifications (Sales Cloud Consultant, Service Cloud Consultant, Experience Cloud Consultant, and/or Business Analyst are preferred)
  • Strong expertise within the Salesforce ecosystem, functionalities, and best practices
  • Expertise with ticket creation, planning and prioritizing for sprints within Jira
  • Ability to solicit information from clients, understand their business strategy, create consensus among stakeholders, and translate the information into strategic and impactful recommendations. 
  • Proactive issue identification and superb problem resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly communicate with all types of staff including technical, professional, and upper management
  • Exemplary planning and organizational skills, along with a high degree of detail orientation
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple concurrent projects
  • Effective team relationship building and conflict resolution skills
  • Desire to learn, grow, and be part of a team
  • Flexibility, innovation, positivity

Nice to have:
  • Experience with Nonprofit Success Pack and/or Nonprofit Cloud
  • Experience with other Marketing Automation platforms (Hubspot, Marketo, Eloqua)

Compensation

$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
